Highlight Description:

Cloud Microphones is a Tucson, Arizona based manufacturer of high-end recording microphones and preamplifiers for the recording, broadcast, worship, and live sound markets. Cloud was formed in 2008 and introduced its products for the first time at the Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City on October 21, 2009. In five short years, Cloud Microphones has established distribution with every major retailer in the United States and Canada. Additionally, Cloud exports to 42 countries including major markets such as Germany, France, United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, South Korea, and China just to name a few.

Extended Description:

Cloud’s commitment goes far beyond manufacturing top-shelf ribbon microphones and preamplifiers, as the manufacturing process itself is as much a part of the integrity of the brand as the high-quality sound performance that is achieved. Manufacturing is localized wherever possible, with the fabrication of metal parts provided by Tucson partner Clean-Cut Metals, and circuit board manufacturing and assembly provided by Tooh Dineh Industries of the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. Other essential components such as transformers and JFET’s are designed and manufactured in California. Final assembly and testing is performed at Cloud’s HQ in Tucson. Cloud Microphones also incorporates green technology and environmentally responsible manufacturing wherever possible, including solar energy, compostable shipping peanuts made from corn, recycling, and fair labor compensation for employees.

Customers can expect Cloud to stand behind their products with excellent customer service and support. Cloud’s microphones and popular ‘Cloudlifter’ line of ‘Mic Activators’, which offer a very unique and useful solution across all segments of the audio industry, carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner and free unlimited tech support. It is important to Cloud Microphones to unequivocally stand behind the products, demonstrating to the industry the added value that comes with purchasing products made responsibly in the USA.

Cloud Microphones products have become very popular within a relatively short period of time, and have received several awards and nominations in the recording industry. Awards and nominations include, 2011 MIPA Nomination (Musikmesse International Press Award - Germany) for the JRS-34 Ribbon Microphone, 2012 Electronic Musician’s Editors Choice Award for the Cloudlifter CL-1, 2012 Neutrik Premier Partner Award for the Cloudlifter CL-Z, 2012 TEC Award Nomination (Technical Excellence and Creativity) for the Cloudlifter CL-Z, and the 2013 Professional Audio Editors Choice Award (Germany) for the JRS-34 Ribbon Microphone. Currently, the Cloud 44-A Ribbon Microphone is nominated for a 2014 NAMM -TEC Award in the category of Recording Microphone Technology, which is presented in partnership with the National Association of Music Merchants and the Technical Excellence and Creativity Foundation.
